We couldn’t wait to get the next instalment of our Top 100 Wedding Songs out, not only because we’ve got another ten hits for you but because it marks the halfway point in our ultimate list of Big Day music! Enjoy!
59. Rihanna – Only Girl (In The World)
Kicking things off this week is a club classic from 2010. This is an absolute stormer that will have the Bride, Bridesmaids and all the other ladies dominating the dancefloor at the reception.
58. Adele – Love Song
Now ordinarily I’m a bit funny about covers, they can go one way or the other, but as soon as I stumbled across Adele’s cover of The Cure’s
Lovesong I knew it had to make its way into this list. The original was a spine-tingling ballad and Adele’s voice only adds to it, creating the perfect first dance song, or even an alternative choice for the ceremony.
57. Diana Ross – Upside Down
A disco classic from the one and only Diana Ross – this has universal appeal and is a great dance tune for the reception.
56. Feist – 1234
A cute and catchy number from Feist,
1234 is loved for its tune but if you listen to the lyrics it’s a beautiful song about growing up and falling in love. What could be more perfect for a wedding?
55. Frank Sinatra – It Had to be You
Whether you know this from
Casablanca,
When Harry Met Sally,
Annie Hall or just as a great love song from one of the great voices of the 20th century, it’s one of the most romantic wedding songs you could choose.
54. Paul McCartney & Wings – Maybe I’m Amazed
Now I’ve never confessed to being a great fan of Wings (blame early exposure to
Mull of Kintyre), but this one makes me want to change my mind every time I hear it, and it’s a fantastic love song for a wedding.
53. Robbie Williams – She’s The One
You can’t beat a bit of Robbie, and this one really speaks for itself doesn’t it.
52. Jackie Wilson – The Sweetest Feeling
“When you turn on your smile / You make my heart go wild” – Jackie Wilson’s
The Sweetest Feeling has had chart success no fewer than three times since its original release in 1968 and it has been covered by more than a few celebrated singer-songwriters. It’s a classic that will never go out of style and it has universal appeal across the generations.
51. Jack Johnson – Better Together
There aren’t many love songs that create the kind of mood that this one can. Fun, relaxed and decidedly summery – it’s easy to see why this is a popular choice for weddings.
50. Nina Simone – My Baby Just Cares for Me
Timeless, stylish, romantic – it can only be Nina Simone with one of the great jazz love songs of all time. Incredibly, this one remained relatively unknown until the mid-1980s when it was used in a television advert – some 29 years after it was recorded!
We’ve reached the halfway point in our countdown of the Top 100 Wedding Songs of all time – so if your favourite hasn’t been included in the list yet now is the time to get in touch with us!
