We’re on the home stretch now of our Top 100 Wedding Song countdown, and incredibly we are finding new songs every week to add to our collection – we’re beginning to think that 100 isn’t enough!

39. Otis Redding – Try a Little Tenderness

I did say that there would be more than one Otis Redding song on this list, and this one is my personal favourite. Music doesn’t really get much more soulful than this 1966 release, and those of you with a passion for 1980s movies will have fond memories of Pretty in Pink.

38. Dooley Wilson – As Time Goes By

Speaking of great movies – who can resist this complete classic from Casablanca? This is a slow dance that guests of all ages will enjoy, from one of the great romantic movies of the mid-Twentieth century.

37. Travis – Flowers in the Window

This cheerful number from indie outfit Travis has been a favourite wedding song since it was released back in 2001, and it’s perfect for any part of the Big Day.

36. Keane – Somewhere Only We Know

Sticking with the indie theme, here’s Somewhere Only We Know from Keane – a song that got a lot of airtime when it was released in 2004 and a classic you may have forgotten.

35. Fleetwood Mac – You Make Loving Fun

Fleetwood Mac have probably produced more break-up songs than any rock band…ever. But this upbeat number sung by Christine McVie is a little respite from the fractious mood of the other Mac songs, and it has a blistering guitar solo which will have all the dads dancing with their eyes closed.

34. Barry Louis Polisar – All I Want is You

This quirky and cute song was made popular by the soundtrack to equally cute and quirky romantic flick Juno, and although the movie was hardly a traditional love story this is a perfect fun song for a wedding.
“If I was a flower growing wild and free all I’d want is you to be my sweet honey bee…”

33. Seals & Crofts – Summer Breeze

Although not exactly a choice that might immediately leap to mind when organising the music for a wedding, this is a must-have for summer weddings that will have everyone swaying to the beat.

32. Chaka Khan – Ain’t Nobody

Oh my goodness, what a tune! This has gone right into the ‘Oldie but a Goodie’ category, and it ticks all the boxes for a wedding disco.

31. Joss Stone – L-O-V-E

A cover of the original by Nat King Cole, soul songstress Joss Stone has brought this one right up to date, and it has features in countless romantic films and advertisements securing its place in the lists of top wedding songs.

30. Jamiroquai – You Give Me Something

A little bit of modern disco to round this week’s list off, this is a terrific dance track with a big load of romance thrown in for good measure. Brilliant.
“I’m hoping my message gets through / There’s never been someone like you…”

It’s hard to believe there are only three instalments left in our Top 100 Wedding Songs! Get your suggestions in before we reach that number one spot – we are available on Twitter and Facebook and we will share our favourite suggestions with our followers!
