The third instalment in our rundown of the Top 100 Wedding Songs is a cracker – as once again we go through some of the best songs to have at any part of a wedding from walking down the aisle to dancing the night away at the reception.

79. Frank Wilson – Do I Love You (Indeed I do)

It’s rare to find a Northern Soul record with lyrics that are suited to a wedding (most of them are break-up records!) which is probably why this one from Frank Wilson is one of the better known soul tracks. Word of warning – this one might bring out your dad’s best moves!

78. Bruno Mars – Marry You

This one secured itself as a wedding must-have the minute it was released in 2011. It has been the soundtrack to more proposal videos than I can count and it’s just as suitable for a wedding – even a more upbeat choice for the first dance!

77. Regina Spektor – Us

Cute, heartfelt and undeniably cheerful – this lovely little number from Regina Spektor is irresistible. Its appearance on the soundtrack of romance flick ‘500 Days of Summer’ brought it into many wedding playlists.

76. Snow Patrol – Chasing Cars

Sorry Leona – original is best in this case. Snow Patrol’s classic ‘Chasing Cars’ from 2006 has featured on countless playlists. It combines the best in lyrics and tune to make a wedding song that everyone will enjoy.

75. James Taylor – How Sweet It Is

‘Easy Listening’ this may be, but it’s a cracking and very romantic song that is sure to have mums, dads, grandparents–everyone slow dancing at your reception.

74. Goo Goo Dolls – Iris

A slow-dance song for the indie generation, ‘Iris’ came out in 1998 and made it back into the charts again in 2006 proving its enduring popularity.

73. Pixies – Gigantic

Make no mistake – this is a fantastic love song and was, I believe, a favourite of Kurt Cobain’s. ‘Gigantic’ by Pixies proves that rockers don’t need to compromise on the style of music they like to find a wedding-appropriate song to play.

72. The Lumineers – Ho Hey

Cheerful, rousing and romantic – we’re bringing you bang up to date with The Lumineers’ ‘Ho Hey’. This song became an instant hit, and with lyrics like ‘I belong with you, you belong with me / you're my sweetheart’ it’s perfect for a wedding celebration.

71. Sister Sledge – We Are Family

A little on-the-nose for a wedding, I’ll admit, but this one will have everyone dancing and celebrating the union of two families. It’s sure to bring a smile to everyone’s face, and will have everyone – young and old – up on the dancefloor.

70. Huey Lewis & The News - The Power of Love

‘The Power of Love’ may have been written for a movie about a time-travelling mad scientist and his teenage companion, but it is a great love song and a beloved 80s power ballad. One of the most overlooked things about ‘Back to The Future’ is the love story between Marty McFly and Jennifer – who wouldn’t aspire to have a relationship like theirs?!

That’s it for another instalment of our Top 100 Wedding Songs! Don’t forget, if you think we’ve overlooked your favourite – get in touch with us on Facebook or Twitter and let us know!
